Camera cables are required to power your camera system. Optimal length of cable will depend on intended usage and space considerations.
Consider the space your system will operate in, specifically the location of the cameras in relation to the computer system. For example, cameras located closer to the computer work best with shorter cables. Alternatively, longer cable lengths are ideal in a number of diverse layouts. We strongly recommend a longer length cable in the following layouts:
Cameras are located on opposite sides of the room
Cameras are intended for overhead installation
Cameras placement for down the line view
Flexibility to provide optimum aesthetics
Many people want the flexibility of longer cables for a variety of options when it comes to the visual look of a system setup. For example, if you want the cables out of the way, install the cable to run up in the rafters, up in the ceiling, down the walls, etc. This allows for a system with a cleaner look and gets rid of the potential of people tripping/disturbing the camera setup.
